The 780 Bertone (later designated Volvo Coupe) was an evolution of the first Volvo/Bertone jointly-produced product, the 262C. Though bearing a near-identical appearance to the 700 series sedans and wagons of the time, the Italian-built 780 sported entirely unique bodywork, glass, and a plush interior-in fact, only the drivetrain and chassis components were carried over from the work-a-day models.
