Initiated by the European Parliament and the coordinated by the European Commission the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) strives for more intensive cooperation between the Baltic countries and shapes the region into a regional cooperation model for the whole EU. The strategy aims to save the sea, connect the region and increase prosperity. Shaping a funding programme like Interreg Baltic Sea Region 2021-2027 requires a full dedication of all Joint Programming Committee (JPC) members. In another meeting held on 24-25 March 2021, the JPC members focused on the division of the expected Programme budget to the Programme priorities, steps to simplify funding procedures and planning of the calls for project applications. The 9th Annual Forum of the EUSBSR was held in Tallinn on 4 – 5 June 2018 We would like to sincerely thank you for taking part in the 9 th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. We hope you took many great ideas and contacts with you to strengthen and develop the Strategy.

The Strategy was approved by the European Council in 2009 following a communication from the European Commission.
